John Oliver Autographed Copy of Marlon Bundo will be Auctioned at “Fabaganza” Show
The Beverly Belles, Denver Drag Queens and Singers will Perform to Support GLBT Youth
DENVER, CO - The new children’s book, A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo, presented by “Last Week Tonight” host, John Oliver, has created a media frenzy and a rally of support from the LGBTQ community. Oliver’s book is an answer to the original version by Vice-President Mike Pence’s family. Denver-based artist, Gerald Kelley, (pen name EG Keller), illustrated the book and has offered a copy autographed by Oliver, Jill Twiss and Kelley to support upcoming “Fabaganza” benefit show at The Clocktower Cabaret in downtown Denver. The book has sold out and is in high-demand.
The first-ever “Fabaganza” variety show is produced by Kelley’s neighbor, Julia Tobey of Give 5 Productions, a live music and entertainment company, and Denver-based drag queen StarChild. Bundo book will be auctioned during a live auction and all proceeds will benefit the GLBT Community Center of Colorado’s youth organization “Rainbow Alley”. The show is Monday, April 30, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM and will feature a variety of comical and musical numbers from Denver singers and drag queens.
The GLBT Community Center of Colorado is a nonprofit community organization dedicated to providing support and advocacy for Colorado’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) population. “Rainbow Alley” specifically caters to the youth ages 11 to 21.
The growing list of “Fabaganza” performers includes: The Beverly Belles (a Hollywood-born, vintage-inspired female singing trio performing Today’s Top 40 in their “ModernRetro” style), members of The Denver Gay Men’s Chorus, singers from Denver’s theatre community, drag queens StarChild, Vivica Galactica, Yvie Oddly; and will be hosted by Shirley Delta Blow. Youth from “Rainbow Alley” will also perform. Guests are encouraged to bring cash as all tips will be directly donated to the Center. Show tickets and donations can be made through The Clocktower Cabaret’s website.
StarChild, who is choosing to donate her birthday to the cause said, “as an out and proud member of the LGBTQ community, I have always found it my duty and responsibility to educate, inform and provide my active support. “Rainbow Alley” is the perfect organization to support because I think it's extremely important and necessary, now more than ever, to encourage, inspire and celebrate our LGBTQ youth.”
