Give 5 Productions welcomes performers of all identities.

 

All races, ethnicities, individuals of multiple gender expression, and individuals that identify as having a disability will be considered for all roles - regardless of how characters have been historically cast by other companies.

 

We believe each person has something truly unique to offer this world, and we highly encourage everyone to audition for us.

Rehearsals will run on weekday evenings and some weekend timeframes in October and possibly some dates in September.

 

Exact schedule TBD and to be published prior to casting offers.

Rehearsals will be held at Parker Arts various rehearsal studios and of course the Schoolhouse stage.

AUDITIONS

AUDITIONS

Actors must be fully vaccinated to work for Give 5 Productions.

 

AUDITIONS WILL BE HELD IN PERSON AND VIA VIDEO SUBMISSIONS.

 

In-person auditions will be on X at Parker Arts' Schoolhouse: 19650 Mainstreet Parker, CO 80138

 

Please prepare two 32 bar cuts of a song in the style of the show. Actor is to accompany self on piano.

Please bring a headshot and resumé.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTIONS

Character Descriptions 

All humans over age 18 will be considered for this production. 

Please note: The role of The Suspects has been precast.

 

Seeking:

Murder for Two is performed by two piano-playing actors.

One actor portrays:

Marcus—

MARCUS MOSCOWICZ: An ambitious young officer
(He also provides voices for two characters in flashback.)

THE CHIEF: Marcus’s grizzled boss

VANESSA: Marcus’s former partner

 

The other actor portrays:

The Suspects—

DAHLIA WHITNEY: The victim’s loopy widow

MURRAY AND BARB FLANDON: The Whitney’s bickering neighbors

STEPH WHITNEY: An overeager grad student

BARRETTE LEWIS: A self-incriminating ballerina

DR. GRIFF: A friendly local psychiatrist

TIMMY, YONKERS, AND SKID: Members of an antiquated boys’ choir

HENRY VIVALDI: A late arrival

 

The final character is Officer Lou, who isn’t played by an actor. Marcus and the suspects address him as needed. (From Kinosian and Blair. Murder for Two. 2014)

PAY / union status

This is a Non-Union professional production but Actors' Equity AEA Guest Contracts *may* be available if necessary.

Flat pay stipends (inclusive of rehearsals and shows) are $3,000 per actor.

No housing provided. Actors must have local accommodations and dependable modes of transportation.

TBA (Director ) is 

JULIA TOBEY (Executive Producer / Assistant Director) is the proud founder of Give 5 Productions and is thrilled to return to Parker Arts after the smashing success of 2022's Footloose the musical. She expresses her deepest gratitude to the Parker Arts staff for supporting her in this dream opportunity. 

Since graduating from the University of Northern Colorado in 2001, Julia enjoyed a career producing, music directing and performing on stage, screen and television in New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo, Orlando, Toronto, Nashville and internationally aboard cruise ships for 15 years before returning home to Denver in 2016. Original roles include ‘Cruella DeVil’ in Hunter Bell and Jeff Bowen’s musical Villains Tonight!, ‘Kandi’ in Christopher Moynihan’s ABC Pilot St. Francis starring Michael Imperioli and Paget Brewster and directed by James Burrows; and ‘Gillian’ in ModRock the Musical. She was bitten by the Parker Arts bug after appearing as ‘Velma’ in Hairspray, earning a 2018 Henry Award nomination. She most recently appeared as 'Betty' in The Great American Trailer Park Musical with Lyricist / Composer, David Nehls, as Music Director; at Miner's Alley Playhouse.

 

Julia’s producing credits include Footloose at Parker Arts, Swingeroo, Sister, Swing! at Disney’s California Adventure; Swingin’ on the Sea with The Beverly Belles, aboard Disney Cruise Line; Swing into Christmas and Victory Swingtime with The Beverly Belles at various venues, cruise ships across the world, including opening for Meghan Trainor, Seth MacFarlane, Katharine McPhee; Sounds of the Street on Ellis Island in New York, NY; Black Iris Cirque at Parker Arts, The Cottonwood Club in Denver, CO; Black Iris Collective at various venues across the U.S.; The Mistletones at Macy’s Herald Square Tree Lighting, New York, NY; Santa’s Naughty List at The Schoolhouse Theatre, Parker, CO; and corporate event bands Rockslide and Rocky Mtn. Bluegrass.
