On April 30, 2018, Give 5 Productions partnered with local drag queen, StarChild, to produce a live charity show at the The Clocktower Cabaret in Downtown Denver.  Fabaganza and the singers, drag queens and The Beverly Belles in ModernRetro donated their time and talent to help raise $3,418 for GLBT Center of Colorado, Rainbow Alley

Led by our wonderful "hostess with the mostest", local favorite Shirley Delta Blow,Fabaganza featured a variety of comical and musical numbers from Colorado singers and drag queens including StarChild, Alice Glamoure, Arabella Beaubrun, Brandon Bill, Jessica Hall, Jessica Sotwick, Kaylin Darst, Keifer Mansfield and The Denver Gay Men’s Chorus, Lucia Glamoure, Sean Roderick, Shelby Varra, Vivica Galactica and Yvie Oddly. Beverly Belles, Julia Tobey, April Nelson and Amy Bolton lit up the stage in retro 60s gold dresses singing Today's Top 40 hits by artists like Sia, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears in vintage style, a lá Postmodern Jukebox.

In addition to these outstanding performances, a live auction was held featuring items from Broadway’s Aladdin and the only signed copy of A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo, a story about a day in the life of Vice President Mike Pence’s real-life pet boy rabbit that falls in love with another boy rabbit. This children’s book, written by Last Week Tonight’s John Oliver and Jill Twiss, was signed by all and donated by the illustrator Gerald Kelley. The LGBT-inclusive theme of this book made it a perfect auction item to support Rainbow Alley.

Rainbow Alley Youth

The GLBT Community Center of Colorado is a nonprofit community organization dedicated to providing support and advocacy for Colorado’s lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) population. “Rainbow Alley” specifically caters to the youth ages 11 to 21 and provides a “safe and brave space supporting LGBTQ youth and their allies.” They offer space for these youth to be themselves and sponsor youth-led events and activities like Queer Prom. They also provide  mental health and life skill services to support healthy growth and development without judgement. It’s a cause that Give 5 Productions and StarChild are proud to support.

StarChild, who chose to donate her birthday to the cause said, “as an out and proud member of the LGBTQ community, I have always found it my duty and responsibility to educate, inform and provide my active support. Rainbow Alley is the perfect organization to support because I think it's extremely important and necessary, now more than ever, to encourage, inspire and celebrate our LGBTQ youth.”
“Supporting our GLBT youth with a night of campy, fun performances is a big win/win if you ask me! Give 5 Productions is thrilled to partner with StarChild and other incredible artists to make the first ever Fabaganza truly spectacular,” remarked Julia Tobey, founder of Give 5 Productions and Beverly Belles singer and producer.

We are so incredibly grateful for all of the performers and technicians who made this night possible as well as the guests that attended to generously support the cause. Among the most generous monetary contributors were Ben Berg, Doran Dennis and Tisha Varra. The Clocktower Cabaret was the perfect venue for our show and their staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that everyone involved had the best night possible.

All of our guests also received a wonderful cookie parting gift (and birthday treat for StarChild) donated by Jill Kull of The Treatery Denver.
