Hedwig and the Angry Inch
In August 2024, Give 5 Productions mounted an immersive production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch at The Arch in RiNo (after a last-minute venue switch from Herman’s Hideaway). Clark Destin Jones starred as Hedwig, with Emma Rebecca Maxfield and Anne Terze-Schwarz alternating as Yitzhak.
The show kicked off each night with a variety-style drag, circus, and burlesque pre-show curated by Jessica L’Whor, plus a costume contest inspired by ’80s rock glam with East Berlin vibes.
Critics praised the production: 5280 Magazine called it “a glam-rock-inspired party … a celebration of and for the queer community and allies, and incredibly high quality local musical theater.”
Audience reaction was deeply emotional — Give 5 shared stories of people leaving in tears, including trans and non-binary fans who felt truly seen.
Buoyed by the success of that run, Give 5 Productions brought Hedwig back in November 2025 for a limited remount at Ballyhoo Table & Stage in LoHi (November 6–23, 2025).
The remount reprises the signature elements: live rock band, queer storytelling, Jessica L’Whor’s pre-show energy, and audience interaction.
Across both years, the production underlined Give 5’s commitment to queer art, community visibility, and theatrical intimacy. It’s not just a rock musical — it’s a celebration of authenticity, belonging, and the healing power of performance.
