Parker Arts Announces 2020 Summer Smash Hit Musical, Mamma Mia!

PARKER, Colo. – February 18, 2020 – South Metro Denver theater lovers are in for a dazzling night of musical entertainment as Mamma Mia! sparkles its way on stage at the Parker Culture and Events Center (PACE) June 25 to July 18.

ABBA's hits tell the hilarious story of a young woman's search for her birth father. This sunny and funny tale unfolds on a Greek island paradise. On the eve of her wedding, a daughter's quest to discover the identity of her father brings three men from her mother's past back to the island they last visited 20 years ago.

The energy and story-telling magic of ABBA's timeless songs propel this enchanting tale of love, laughter and friendship, creating an unforgettable show. The production features ABBA’s world-renowned songs, “Dancing Queen,” “The Winner Takes All,” “Take a Chance on Me,” “Mamma Mia” and many, many more!  A large cast, non-stop laughs and explosive dance numbers combine to make Mamma Mia! a guaranteed smash hit. A mother. A daughter. Three possible dads. And a trip down the aisle you'll never forget!

PACE’s presentation of Mamma Mia! marks the first time Denver-based Give 5 Productions (G5P) will be co-producing with Parker Arts. Directed and choreographed by Piper Arpan and featuring the musical direction of Susan Draus, “the production promises to be a different experience than ever before!” says Julia Tobey, G5P Founder, Executive Producer and Artistic Director.

“I am so grateful to be a part of the inaugural G5P production at PACE!” says Director/Choreographer Piper Arpan. “After playing ‘Tanya’ in the Arvada Center’s production of Mamma Mia! in 2018, I fell in love with the show and was hopeful to get my hands on it as a director/choreographer. I am thrilled that the moment has finally come.”

“Mamma Mia! was my very first Broadway National Tour,” adds Music Director Susan Draus, “so I'm absolutely thrilled to be back home in Denver doing a show that is so near and dear to me.  And to work with Piper Arpan and Julia Tobey makes it even more special! This will be my first show at Parker Arts!!!”

Casting for the PACE production of Mamma Mia! will be complete late March. Matinee and evening productions of Mamma Mia! will run at PACE from June 25 to July 18. Tickets are on sale to Parker Arts Family Circle Members now. Tickets go on sale to the public starting February 25.
